Extracurricular Activities
iBotics Embedded Systems Specialist
Implement low level control systems interfacing with the main computer (PC-104) and the various sensors and actuatoirs of the Stingray. Create custom controls and interfacing systems using AVR microcontrollers using C and assembly programming languages (see EE design project below).
Electrical Engineering Design Project
Worked in a team of three to design and prototype a custom sonar sampling and processing board to be used on the San Diego iBotics AUV. Board conditions 3-channels of hydrophone signals through instrumentation amplifiers and programmable band-pass filters. Signals are then sampled through a 12-bit ADC onto an Atmel microcontroller.
Current Employment
Embedded Systems Specialist
Institute for Nonlinear Science, University of California, San Diego
Worked on developing an autonomous smoke-plume tracking robot. Developed automated smoke flow controls.
Previous Employment
Student Intern
Spawar Systems Center
Photonics Division: Worked on the calibration of optical sensors and checking connections between sensitive optical connects for advisors RF-over-fiber project.
Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS) Division: Tested Micro-Electro-Mechanical devices such as semiconductor laser modules and analyzed prototypical lab equipment. Design calibration circuit for this process.
